Jane Peronteau for East Vincent Supervisor
Why I'm Running For East Vincent Township Supervisor
As an East Vincent Township resident for 23 years, I’ve learned to love the township for its rich diversity. Families, business people and the farmers who have spent a lifetime here, make up the fabric of this community. All of them contribute to the township’s unique small-town feel. We know our neighbors and recognize friends at parks, shops and school functions.
For the past year I’ve served on the township’s Planning Commission with a philosophy that demonstrates that I’m practical, fiscally conservative, and informed regarding township issues and prudent development.
As a Township Supervisor, I plan to achieve these goals:
- Protect taxpayers from frivolous and wasteful use of their tax dollars.
- Retire the Transfer of Development Rights (TDRs) to limit development and density.
- Enact proactive measures to protect the interests and investments of township residents.
- Develop cooperative and respectful relationships among supervisors, township employees and residents.
- Help Manage the township in fiscally conservative, professional manner.

Using Common Sense as a Planning Commission Member
- Voted NO to using township funds to pay for an access plan to a developer's property; leaving the financial responsibility for this access plan to the developer.
- Stressed the practicality of using information already accessible---and paid for with taxpayer dollars, in planning for the Rt. 724 corridor therefore not using tax dollars to again pay for information already provided.
- Voted YES and supported removing 'The Open Space Design Option' in the Agricultural Preservation and Rural Conservation Districts, while assuring the Low, Medium and High Residential Districts did not receive an increase in development as a result.
- Objectively listens to data provided by Applicants requesting possible land use changes, possible zoning changes, etc. and makes a recommendation based upon what is in the best interest of all East Vincent Township residents.

- Questioned elected officials and informed residents regarding plans to allow for a public walking trail directly through the East Vincent Elementary School grounds. Spoke directly to the Owen J. Roberts School Board about the concerns and with the support of the OJR Chief of Security.
- Questioned how it is in the best interest of East Vincent Township to belong to the Phoenixville Regional Plan after thorough review of the documentation.
